Ordering a Custom Subdomain
About Your Custom Subdomain
Before placing your order for a custom subdomain (ie. secure.example.com instead of example.foxycart.com), you must be aware of the following:
- If you complete the information below incompletely or inaccurately it may delay getting your cert.
- You’ll need to validate the SSL certificate by email. If you have spam filters in place, make sure you’re checking them for any verification email. This email does not come from FoxyCart.
- You’ll need to set a
CNAMEat theDNSlevel. It’s not difficult, but we can’t really offer support for this since there are so many DNS providers. If you don’t know how to do this, ask your hosting provider. See the details here. You can go ahead and do this now if you’d like. - It can take up to a week to get the cert issued and installed if the business is in the United States. If you’re in a hurry please make sure that the validation email you select is functional. If the validation email you select below bounces it will delay the process.

Finding the Order Form
We’ve recently updated our ordering process to include the order form in your FoxyCart Dashboard
If you don’t already have a FoxyCart Store go ahead and sign up now
After logging into your FoxyCart account:
- Click the “settings” link at the top, under “STORE”
- Check the “use remote store domain” checkmark.
- Click the “purchase an SSL certificate” link that appears in the help text.
Alternately, once you’ve logged into your FoxyCart account you can click this link to go directly to the order form.
