How do I enable JavaScript in my browser?

In order to use the FoxyCart checkout system, you will need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser. JavaScript is used to improve your shopping and checkout experience, and can be easily enabled in all modern web browsers. Wikipedia has more information about javascript if you’re interested.

To enable JavaScript, please follow the instructions below:

Internet Explorer 9

  1. Click on the Tools button (the picture of the gear) or “Tools” from the program menu.
  2. Click on Internet Options….
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. In the “Security level for this zone” box, click on Custom level….
  5. Scroll toward the bottom of the Settings box to Scripting.
  6. Enable active scripting.
  7. Click OK twice to close the dialogue.
  8. Click the Refresh button after the Address Bar at the top of your browser, or hit F5.

Internet Explorer 7

  1. Click on the Tools button (the picture of the gear) or “Tools” from the program menu.

  3. Click the Security tab.

  1. Select ‘Tools’ from the top menu
  2. Choose ‘Internet Options’
  3. Click on the ‘Security’ tab
  4. Click on ‘Custom Level’
  5. Scroll down until you see section labled ‘Scripting’
  6. Under ‘Active Scripting’, select ‘Enable’ and click OK

Netscape Navigator

  1. Select ‘Edit’ from the top menu
  2. Choose ‘Preferences’
  3. Choose ‘Advanced’
  4. Choose ‘Scripts & Plugins’
  5. Select the ‘Enable JavaScript’ checkbox and click OK.

Mozilla Firefox (12.0)

  1. Click on the FireFox menu.
  2. Select Options->Options
  3. Click the Content tab.
  4. Check Enable JavaScript.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Reload or hit F5.

Mozilla Firefox (1.5 & 2.0)

  1. Click on the Tools menu.
  2. Select Options….
  3. Click the Content tab with the Earth graphic.
  4. Check Enable JavaScript.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Reload or hit F5.

Mozilla Firefox (1.0)

  1. Select ‘Tools’ from the top menu
  2. Choose ‘Options’
  3. Choose ‘Web Features’ from the left navigation
  4. Select the checkbox next to ‘Enable JavaScript’ and click OK

Apple Safari (5.1.2)

  1. Select ‘Safari’ from the top menu
  2. Choose ‘Preferences’
  3. Choose ‘Security’
  4. Select the checkbox next to ‘Enable JavaScript’

Apple Safari (1.0)

  1. Select ‘Safari’ from the top menu
  2. Choose ‘Preferences’
  3. Choose ‘Security’
  4. Select the checkbox next to ‘Enable JavaScript’


Please keep in mind that upgrading your browser or installing new security software or security patches may affect your JavaScript settings. It is a good idea to double-check that JavaScript is still enabled if you notice problems displaying our checkout system. Additionally, if your JavaScript setting is set to ‘Prompt’, you may encounter a warning about downloading potentially dangerous scripts during your checkout process.
